ACTION REQUEST

MIDDLE ROAD PROPERTIES

December 2024

A condo development is being built on the eastern edge of the Kernstown Battlefield that wasn’t there 2 years ago.  The same thing could happen on the western edge of our property along Middle Road unless we take immediate action to prevent it.  There are three tracts, roughly 108 acres, for sale between the western edge of Middle Road and Rt 37 that saw significant action during the 1st and 2nd Battles of Kernstown and the 2nd Battle of Winchester.

For those of you who have been on Pritchard’s Hill, looking west towards Sandy Ridge, that view would be obstructed by a huge condo or new housing development sitting on Hallowed Ground where Americans fought and died.

We can’t do this alone.  Here’s how you can help preserve history.  As you make year-end donations, we ask that you consider helping us preserve this property and piece of history.

There is no time to waste as the Glass-Glen Burnie Foundation, owners of the property, are in discussions with a developer.

Every dollar you designate to this effort will go towards helping us acquire this historic property.  If by check, mark “Middle Road Properties” on the memo line, and mail to KBA, PO Box 1327, Winchester, Va. 22604.  Or touch the “Donate” button below to use the credit card of your choice.
